Md. Rafiul Bary is a seasoned credit rating professional with more than 10 years of experience in credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and rating advisory services. As First Assistant Vice President (FAVP) & Group Leader, he plays a pivotal role in leading analytical teams, overseeing rating assignments, and ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of credit rating opinions.
Mr. Bary is a member of the Rating Committee and has extensive experience in assessing the creditworthiness of companies operating across a wide range of sectors, including ready-made garments (RMG), textiles, spinning, real estate, healthcare, brokerage houses, asset management companies, and bond issuances. His expertise spans credit risk evaluation, financial modeling, industry analysis, business risk assessment, and the preparation and review of comprehensive credit rating reports.
Over the course of his career, he has successfully managed rating engagements, guided analytical teams, and contributed to the development of robust rating methodologies and analytical practices. His ability to evaluate financial and operational risks, combined with his strong understanding of industry dynamics, supports informed and objective rating decisions.
Prior to assuming his current leadership role, Mr. Bary served in various analytical positions within the credit rating industry, gaining extensive experience in credit analysis, financial assessment, and rating supervision. He also possesses professional experience in project finance and banking operations, which further enriches his analytical perspective.
Mr. Bary holds an MBA and BBA in Finance from Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT) and is currently pursuing the Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA) program under the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).
Mr. Bary is a member of the Rating Committee and possesses extensive experience in evaluating the creditworthiness of companies across diverse sectors, including ready-made garments (RMG), textiles, spinning, real estate, hospitals, brokerage houses, asset management companies, and bond issuances. His expertise encompasses financial modeling, risk assessment, industry analysis, and the preparation and review of comprehensive credit rating reports.
Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strong leadership in managing analytical teams, mentoring junior analysts, and maintaining effective relationships with clients and stakeholders. His analytical capabilities, combined with his practical understanding of industry dynamics, contribute significantly to informed and objective rating decisions.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Bary served in various analytical positions within the credit rating industry, steadily progressing through responsibilities in credit analysis, financial evaluation, and rating supervision. He also gained early professional experience in project finance and banking operations.
Mr. Bary holds an MBA and BBA in Finance from Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT) and is currently pursuing the Operational Level of the Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA) program under the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB).
