Mr. Razib Ahmed
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Razib Ahmed is a seasoned credit rating professional with nearly two decades of extensive experience in credit analysis, financial risk assessment, rating methodologies, and strategic leadership within Bangladesh’s credit rating industry.
He has been serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WASO Credit Rating Company (BD) Limited since September 2025, following his tenure as Chief Rating Officer (CRO) from January 2024 to August 2025. In his current role, he leads the organization’s strategic direction, operational excellence, and the overall quality and integrity of rating activities.
Prior to joining WASO Credit Rating Company (BD) Limited, Mr. Ahmed served as Vice President and Chairman of the Internal Review Committee at Credit Rating Information and Services Limited (CRISL), where he joined in January 2022. He began his career in the credit rating industry in 2006 as a Financial Analyst at Credit Rating Agency of Bangladesh Limited (CRAB) and spent over 15 years in various leadership positions, including Head of Business Development Division and Unit Head of the Rating Division.
Throughout his career, Mr. Ahmed has led and participated in numerous rating assignments covering banks, non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), insurance companies, large corporates, project financing, and structured financial instruments. He possesses extensive expertise in financial forecasting, financial modeling, and credit risk evaluation across diverse industries.
He has also played a significant role in strengthening analytical standards and due diligence processes within rating operations and contributed to the development of methodologies for assessing the creditworthiness of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Bangladesh. Currently, he serves as a member of the Technical Committee formed by Bangladesh Bank to develop uniform rating methodologies and score models for credit rating agencies.
Mr. Ahmed holds an MBA in Finance and Banking from University of Dhaka. He has participated in numerous international training programs and professional workshops organized by organizations including Asian Development Bank, Association of Credit Rating Agencies in Asia (ACRAA), and Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC), further strengthening his expertise in global credit rating best practices, bond market assessment, and macroeconomic risk analysis.
Under his leadership, WASO Credit Rating Company (BD) Limited continues to strengthen its commitment to analytical excellence, transparency, and the development of Bangladesh’s financial sector.
